- "Look! I have one job on this lousy ship! It's STUPID, but I'm gonna do it! Okay?!"
- ―Gwen Demarko
After the cancellation of the original series, Gwen Demarko, like most of her co-stars, resents her role on the show as a rather useless heroine. She complains that her character wasn't as likable and iconic as the other main characters, and that her TV Guide interview was six paragraphs about her boobs fitting into her suit, and that nobody even bothered to ask what she does on the show: repeat the computer.
Although she disliked Jason Nesmith's scene-stealing ego almost as much as the rest of the cast, she has a little more respect for him than some of them. She admires his showmanship and the way he is very friendly and loyal to his fans. And when she saw him angrily storming off from the convention after yelling at a fan, she found it very uncharacteristic of him, especially towards his fans, and was worried about him.
When Jason brought the crew aboard the Thermians' NSEA-Protector for a real space adventure, she was as terrified of the danger as the rest of them. But as she followed Jason throughout the adventure, she sees his more courageous side and eventually falls in love with him for real.
In accordance to her role on the TV show, only she is able to speak with and give instructions to the computer AI of the Thermian-built NSEA-Protector.
