This novelization of the film was meant for younger audiences was adapted by Ellen Weiss from the screenplay by Robert Gordon.
This version is largely similar to the screenplay, and the other novelization, some of the more adult details have been edited out . . . but many were overlooked.
- When Tommy Webber is injured on the bridge, it is a Thermian named Betzalar that takes him to the medical quarters.
- Despite being intended for children much of the adult language from the screeplay (and thus film) remains intact.
- On most sites this product is listed as "Galaxy Quest (Movie tie-ins)", indicating that this is possibly its name in the copyright listing.
- There are four (eight if you count both sides) pages of high-gloss photographic inserts in the center of the book, with a total of sixteen images.
